Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is committed to addressing international issues and fostering global awareness. The Austin Alumnae Chapter actively participates in initiatives that educate, empower, and engage our community in meaningful international efforts.

Economic Development
The Economic Development program initiative, Financial Fortitude, empowers communities through financial literacy education, debt reduction strategies, and support for minority entrepreneurship. Developed with resources from the FDIC, the National Endowment for Financial Education, and other partners, the program promotes financial security and the building of generational wealth.
Key programs include:
• DST Women-Owned Entrepreneurship Challenge
• Personal Debt Reduction education
• Austin Alumnae Delta Red Pages – A business directory highlighting member-owned businesses, connecting our network to the broader community.

Educational Development
Educational Development is the catalyst to providing educational support to the Austin and surrounding community. Our involvement reaches to young participants of all ages, to inspire, motivate, and support achievement.

The Social Action Committee advances Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s national social action agenda locally within the Austin community. The committee leads voter registration and education efforts and advocates for political and civic solutions that support underprivileged and minority populations.

Physical and Mental Health
The Physical and Mental Health Committee seeks to educate its members and the community regarding healthy lifestyle options, disease detection and prevention, and eradicating the stigma of mental health diagnosis and treatment. Through our national initiative of Total Woman: Mind, Body, and Spirit, we work to help women address the challenges of living a holistic and healthy life.
